1. Install the recommended batteries, observing the correct polarity.
2. Place the device on a stable, level surface in the area to be monitored.
3. Press MODE to switch between the time and date displays and access the settings.
4. Use AL to set, activate, or deactivate the alarm.
5. Use UP to adjust values during setup and to switch between °C and °F where supported by the display mode.
6. Press LIGHT to activate the backlight and use the snooze function when the alarm sounds.
7. Allow several minutes for the temperature and humidity readings to stabilize after moving the device.
